First the back, then the technology: In the complete redevelopment of two backpack sprayer models for MESTO, BUSSE placed great emphasis on back-friendly working. Users can look forward to optimum ergonomics and user-friendliness.

Backpack sprayers are a familiar sight in the garden and in agriculture. While the focus of conventional devices is more on function, the Swabian company MESTO has set a higher standard with the new RS125 and RS185 models: functionality and user-friendliness should set standards, as should optimum ergonomics, which make hard, continuous use noticeably easier and are easy on the user's back. MESTO therefore commissioned BUSSE with the design configuration of the product, which includes all technical components and functions. Together with MESTO, BUSSE developed a modular parts system for the new backpack sprayer models, which on the one hand enables different model variants, but on the other hand reduces the number of individual parts.

The unique shape of the container, which BUSSE has adapted to the human back, immediately catches the eye. Padded carrying straps, hip and chest straps ensure comfortable, fatigue-free working, to which the optimally shaped and multi-adjustable pump lever and the adjustable arrangement of the carrying straps also contribute. The BUSSE team of designers and engineers also succeeded in integrating the pump into the tank in such a way that small gaps can be reached from the outside and pinched fingers should finally be a thing of the past with the RS125 and RS185. MESTO and BUSSE have even found new solutions for supposedly minor details: Spray shields or an extension tube are housed directly on the appliance and measuring cups of different sizes have been integrated into the filler cap, which is secured against loss.

BUSSE provided the entire design for MESTO in several stages, from the initial sketches to the proportional model. In addition, CAD surfaces and parts were created until they were transferred to the design department.

MESTO, based in Freiberg/Neckar near Stuttgart, was founded in 1919 and produces exclusively in Germany with around 100 employees. The company manufactures all types of sprayers, from high-pressure sprayers to hand sprayers, backpack sprayers, suction devices and pressurized water tanks.
