What do the four theses of our Future preview of 2080 have in common?
The four theses deal with elementary structures and models that enhance the relationship between man, nature and civilisation. This concerns a future which, from todays point of view, is ecologically precarious and, from mankinds point of view, requires clearer, more ecological and therefore also more economically sensible solutions, which must be realised in a future that can be measured in terms of time and which, in doing so, have a long-term effect. The presented approaches are therefore multi-layered. They concern local changes affecting the individual citizen of the world and his directly surrounding way of life as well as structural changes on a global dimension. We have taken our traditional field of knowledge, the design and development of products, their application and the effect they have on us as a basis and have tried to let our imagination wander into more distant times than our tasks usually demand of us.
We are not only trying to anticipate developments in the working and living world of tomorrow, but are also trying to envision a careful and creatively responsible use of our planets resources, to avoid future mistakes and to correct what damage has been done wherever possible. It deals with topics ranging from nutrition in increasingly large urban agglomerations to the effective, environmentally friendly management of civil and natural habitats and environmentally compatible forms of globalised economy. The number of young parents among BUSSE Design+Engineering has never been greater. In 60 years your children will still be an active part of the world population. We are all driven by the theme of a future worth living and time is pressing. We are not politicians. We want to reduce the number of excuses and instead create a sustainable platform for optimism.

WHAT IS URBAN FARMING?
New forms of small to medium-sized agriculture are emerging in urban and peri-urban areas, which are operated partly commercially and partly privately. Urban farming becomes a new, fixed component of personal leisure time, but can also be regarded as an independent part of social life in the late or post-industrial epoch.
GLOBALLY AND LOCALLY
Complex industrial products and machines can be manufactured by optimized laser techniques. Depending on the technical possibilities, conventional manufacturing processes can be replaced. The prerequisite here is a high percentage of pulverizability of all materials without sacrificing the desired physical properties. Large production facilities with complex, large-volume production machines as well as extensive production processes with high energy and resource consumption are no longer required. As a result, production is carried out by flexible, small production facilities close to the market. In addition, these products could be recycled after ist lifetime at the manufacturer. The recyclinf happens by reverse manufacturing. The raw material is then appropriately processed and fed back into the production process.
THE USE OF ROBOTS IN THE FUTURE
The networking of robots with each other as well as the intelligent division of labour among robots are particularly in focus. Autonomous work and the complete acceptance of tedious work by robots is also an important part to focus on. Robots can also be used by multiple persons through robot sharing.
As part of our product visions 2080, we have looked at two important questions. One of them is the consideration of how information and technologies can be meaningfully networked in the area of application and how the work of forest workers can be supported and relieved. The other question is, what tools and vehicles could look like in the year 2080. GIS Geo-information systems already offer early detection and localisation of damage caused by pest infestation and insect feeding as well as air pollution, wind and drought. It should also be considered whether further improvements can be made to existing systems.
